Newborn Photography in Westchester

This sweet newborn session took place just the other day with sweet little Baby E, who was only five days old. Baby E’s parents are some of my favorite clients ever, and not just that – I am so happy to call them my dear friends! I photographed Julie and Rafael’s wedding in 2009, Julie’s maternity portraits in 2012, and shortly after, their son’s newborn portraits, and I have photographed their son each year since he was born. It’s such an honor to witness a family as it grows each year!

This sweet snuggly newborn pose – at only five days old! – was worth waiting for 🙂

Newborn sessions take longer than most family portrait session,a s there is a lot of waiting involved, as we are on baby’s schedule! Newborns need extra time to nurse or feed, and often need breaks for diaper changes or extra time to fall back to sleep. Plan for at least 2-3 hours of quiet time for your newborn session. Mom and dad can relax nearby, or take part in the photo session as well.

This was one of the first photos I took during the session with tiny baby E, I was excited to try out some new newborn props I’ve recently purchased. Everything for a newborn session is washed in gentle newborn detergent before the session, and I come to you with all of my assorted props and backgrounds for a newborn session.

You are also welcome to provide any additional props, hats, headbands, blankets and family treasures of your own for the session. I love E’s little pink flower hat and tutu that her mom purchased for her Westchester newborn photo shoot!
