FAQ & INFO

INFO:

I am so honored that you are considering Kelly Vasami Photography to capture your memories. Choosing the right photographer is an important decision, whether it's planning your wedding or special event, family portraits, or selecting a headshot photographer, or choosing someone to photograph your home or business. I'm sure you have many questions about the process. I'm here to help you make an informed decision, but I also want to make the entire process enjoyable for you!

From start to finish, I am full-service and hands-on with my clients. I am involved in every aspect of my business from answering your emails and phone calls, to photographing your session, to editing the final images, and assisting in any way I can to make sure you are thrilled with the final product.

WEDDINGS NOTE: As of 2022 and beyond, I have shifted my focus to capturing intimate weddings rather than larger traditional wedding celebrations. If you are planning a celebration of 50-75 guest max, please contact the studio to learn more about intimate wedding photography coverage, and see if your date is available. If you are planing a larger traditional wedding celebration (full day of coverage, a bridal party, ballroom-type of celebration), I would be happy to suggest a colleague who is able to do a wonderful job of capturing your larger celebration.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: What is your style?

A: I strive to create timeless, authentic and natural photographs for my clients. By establishing a relationship with my clients before the session or event, I am able to capture their true personalities, which shine through in the final product. I quietly observe and unobtrusively capturing your moments, rather than scripting them. I photograph you in the most beautiful light possible, literally and figuratively. My ultimate goal is to create gorgeous, everlasting, and creative images that become artwork in your home or for your business.

Q: What sets you apart from other photographers?

A: I aim to make the entire experience of custom photography - from our very first phone call, to the moment when I hand over your completed photographs - a completely positive and enjoyable experience. It's not enough to just produce beautiful images for my clients, I want them to have fun while doing it! Many of my clients first describe themselves as "camera shy", and I know it can be intimidating to be photographed! I find that by getting to know my clients - what makes you smile, what gets you to laugh naturally - I am able to produce warm, natural heartfelt genuine images that are actually fun to create. I have wonderfully loyal clients who have been with me since early on in my career (well over a decade now), with some returning every single year to have me capture their growing family.

Q: How long have you been a photographer?

A: I have been photographing weddings and portraits professionally since 2006, when Kelly Vasami Photography, LLC was formed.

Q: What kind of equipment do you use?

A: I use top-of-the-line Canon professional digital SLR cameras and lenses. I bring backup cameras, lenses and flashes to every session and event in the unlikely event of an equipment malfunction. I shoot with wide-angle, zoom, telephoto, macro, and prime lenses. I am prepared for any lighting situation we might encounter.

Q: Do you have a studio space?

A: I have a small home-based studio space that I utilize for solo headshots and newborn sessions, as well as smaller sessions like first birthday cake smashes or toddler milestones. For in-studio headshots and cake smash sessions, we can use a backdrop of your choosing. For more than one subject or family portraits, I highly recommend we choose an outdoor location to take advantage of natural lighting and scenic locations. I am happy to share my location suggestions during our pre-session consultation meeting.

Q: Do you photograph kids or families too?

A: Yes, I love when my wedding clients return to me after their wedding for maternity portraits, newborn sessions, or family portraits! My portrait work can be seen at www.KellyVasamiKids.com. I also photograph corporate headshots, real estate and retail spaces, small events, and vintage and exotic cars too!

Q: Do you offer gift certificates?

A: Yes, they are some of my most popular products! Gift certificates come beautifully wrapped, tied with a bow, and ready to give to the new mom, the newly engaged couple, or your favorite family.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: Major credit cards, checks and cash are happily accepted. I will gladly set up a payment plan that is convenient for you.

Q: Do you have insurance?

A: Yes. All aspects of my business are fully covered to protect myself, my clients, my equipment, and the venues in which I photograph. I am happy to provide my insurance certificate to your venue by reques

Q: Can you hold our wedding date?

A: To reserve Kelly Vasami Photography for your wedding date, a non-refundable retainer of $1500 and a signed contract is required. Once a contract has been signed and a retainer has been received, the date is all yours and I will turn away all other offers for that entire weekend.

A: No way! To ensure the best possible service and attention to my clients, I only photograph one wedding per weekend.
